Do you have your Utah
non-resident CCW Permit?
The State of California does not have a reciprocal CCW agreement
with the State of Utah, another words, your California CCW Permit is not honored
in Utah and vice-versa. By obtaining a Utah non-resident CCW Permit in
addition to your California CCW Permit, you may legally carry a concealed
handgun not only in California and Utah, but in 33 other states; Alabama,
Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana,
Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana,
Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania,
South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington State, West
Virginia and Wyoming.
Unlike California, the State of Utah is a “Shall Issue” state that
issues CCW Permits to non-Utah residents. All that is required to obtain
a non-resident CCW Permit is that you are 21 years of age or older, are not
prohibited by any State or Federal Law from owning and/or possessing a firearm,
and have successfully completed a Utah State approved firearms training
course.
GOLD COUNTRY FIREARMS is now a recognized firearms instructor for
the State of Utah. Our Utah CCW Training Certification is a one day,
minimum eight hour course consisting of approximately 4 hours of classroom
study followed by a “Live Fire” range qualification. The range qualification course of fire is the
same as the California and Nevada qualification course of fire.
All participants who successfully complete the course then apply for
their non-resident CCW Permit simply by mailing their Utah CCW application
packet to the State of Utah’s Department of Public Safety. Processing of an
application takes between 45 to 60 days, and if no disqualifying factors a
found, their permit is mailed to them. A
Utah non-resident CCW permit is valid for 5 years.
Courses are forming now and seating is limited, so if you are
interested in obtaining your Utah CCW Permit, please contact us for further
