Do you have your Nevada non-resident CCW Permit?
The State of California does not have a reciprocal CCW agreement with the State of Nevada, another words, your California CCW Permit is not honored in Nevada and vice-versa. By obtaining a Nevada non-resident CCW Permit in addition to your California CCW Permit, you may legally carry a concealed handgun not only in California and Nevada, but in 15 other states; Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas.
Unlike California, the State of Nevada is a “Shall Issue” state that issues CCW Permits to non-Nevada residents. All that is required to obtain a non-resident CCW Permit is that you are 21 years of age or older, are not prohibited by any State or Federal Law from owning and/or possessing a firearm, and have successfully completed a state approved firearms training course. The State of Nevada does however require that all firearms training for Nevada CCW applicants be conducted in their state.
GOLD COUNTRY FIREARMS is now a recognized firearms instructor for the State of Nevada. Our Nevada CCW Training Certification is a two day, minimum eight hour course held at the Carson Valley Inn and Douglas County Parks & Recreation Pistol & Rifle Range located in beautiful Minden, Nevada. The lecture segment of the course is held on a Sunday at the Carson Valley Inn, the live fire range qualification segment of the course, depending on number of participants, is held Sunday afternoon and/or Monday morning at the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Pistol & Rifle Range.
All participants who have successfully completed the course will then apply for their non-resident CCW Permit on Monday through the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department which is located just a short walk across the parking lot from the Carson Valley Inn.
Courses are forming now and seating is limited, so if you are interested in obtaining your Nevada CCW Permit, please contact us for further information.
